There are those humans who know many things about dogs, and they write books to teach other humans about dogs too. But sometimes, the things they teach are wrong. Sometimes, humans cannot see the truth. They believe that a thing is true at all times. Such thinking can be damaging to dogs. If a human truly believes that a feral dog cannot bond to a human after their imprinting stage has passed, they might overlook a wonderful dog. They might see a very good dog, with a lot of potential, and say "The book say this dog is not good. He will never bond to a human." Then they will walk away, and leave the dog in despair.

I know two dogs this was said of. And they have broken all the rules. Poe and Jack Frost were feral, they were born wild, but now they are trusting and loving humans.

Just look at Jack. He loves and trusts children. He loves Mom, Auntie Ruth and Uncle Don. He adores children.

He just seems to know they will not hurt him.

And Poe was even a good boy at the groomer's. He was very good with Auntie Carolyn. See?

So next time a human tells you "This dog will never..." please tell them "I do not believe in NEVER."

Cealiegh of Skye ("Kailie")I think Poe & Jack are neat!! We had fun together. Poe is really getting better around people - he even came close enough to my Mom & Dad to sniff their gloves and accept cookies.
