OK, it may have been published a long time ago, but the experiences Crisp encountered will never be out-of-date.  Crisp offers a great account of what she did first-hand to help save animals after the Exxon Valdez crashed in Alaska, and after Hurricane Andrew hit Homestead, Florida. At the end of the book, Crisp lists things that pet guardians should do to be prepared for disaster. So, not only by being able to learn from experience, but by benefitting from Crisp's list, more people can efficiently put together plans to help when emergency management is needed.  In this sense, Out of Harm's Way is especially timely today.

See the Florida disaster .org website for more ways to be prepared.
