I am Annie.  I was running loose in a rural town and was found.  I have l-o-n-g legs and look like a mini-bird dog (only, I have beagle markings)!  So, I guess that makes me a beagle-bird dog!  I have lived in a foster home since May, 2006.  Many people wanted to adopt me based on my photo, but when they saw me in person they gasped!  I have whippet-like legs with strong muscles and I run like the wind! My foster family had a doggie door and lot of fenced land, so I excecised with the wind as much as my heart desired.  I was not your average, cuddly beagle. But, I am v-e-r-y smart!  Yep!  I am v-e-r-y smart!

The photo with the tie around my neck is the photo that was taken when I was first found.

Gotcha Day!

I was formally adopted on Labor Day weekend, 2006.  Yep!  My foster family adopted me. Yeah!  I was going to events and showings like twice a month to try to find a home.  It got to be very frustrating.  No one understood me.  But, my foster family knew me!  They know that I need to go to obedience school, and they are willing to enroll me this fall!  Wow!  I am sooooo ready to go to school.  My family can tell that I am ready.  They understand this stage of my life.  And, they understand me. Sometimes they tease me by singing Manhattan Transfer's version of "Bird Land" only saying "Bird-dog" instead!  I don't mind.  Twang, twang - I can be a lanky, uncoordinated pup as well.  Just let me run, and I'll have the time of my life!  This weekend was the best ever!!
